We also take pride in announcing our new Board of Directors and show our gratitude towards the Directors that are leaving the Board.
The Chamber will announce the recipients of the Darrell Johnson award, Mike Carrington award and the Business of the Year!
We will have the 2017 USA National Princess, Reagan Rhodes of Thomson, sing "Watch What Happens" from the Broadway Musical-Newsies.
Reagan bested delegates from throughout the United States to claim the national crown, scholarship money and an extensive prize package during the national pageant which was held at the Boca Resort and Beach Club in Florida this summer. She is nine years old and is the daughter of Doctors Mychele and Steve Rhodes. A fourth grader, Reagan is active in The Crown C.A.R.E.S. (USA National Miss Anti-bullying Platform) initiative. The platform of Creating a Respectful Environment for All Students provided students more exposure to appropriate behaviors on campus and how to treat one another with value and respect.
Volunteerism is an integral part of Reagan’s efforts. As a Type I diabetic since age 5, Reagan is the founder of Reagan’s Dogs for Diabetes, which provides stuffed animals along with a personalized letter from Reagan about being brave and having courage to newly diagnosed Type I patients at the Children’s Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Reagan was featured as one of the children for the Children’s Miracle Network, which raises money for other youth facing medical challenges.
