The Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Thomson will be hosting the fireworks show “Freedom Blast” on Monday, July 3, 2017. This event will be on the front lawn of the Thomson-McDuffie County Government Complex. There will be handicap parking provided on site, but regular parking will be redirected to other areas downtown. The main parking lot in front of the Government center will be blocked off for vendors.
The event begins at 7:00 p.m. with games and activities for the whole family. The Thomson Family Y will coordinate different activities such as sack races, a dunking booth, and so much more. Also, we will have a corn hole tournament where the winner will receive a brand new television donated by the Thomson Walmart Supercenter. If you are interested in participating in the corn hole tournament, please contact the chamber to sign up. The entry fee is $5 per person, and you may register no later than 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 30th. The Thomson Fire Department will also have their ladder truck spraying water for the kids to play in.
Along with the fun activities are delicious eats. We’ll have several different vendors selling barbecue, ice cream, hamburgers and hot dogs, etc. So don’t forget to bring your appetite!
Once the recognition of our Patriots is over, the fireworks begin. So bring a chair and plan on a capturing a spectacular show! For more information on Freedom Blast, please contact the Thomson-McDuffie County Chamber of Commerce at (706) 597-1000.
