    About Us

    James T. Jones, Jr. is a litigation attorney who focuses his practice on civil, criminal, domestic, and Social Security disability matters. He also serves, by appointment of the Governor, as the Special Assistant Attorney General for the Toombs Judicial Circuit, where he represents the Department of Family and Children Services in all matters concerning the deprivation of minor children.

    Mr. Jones is originally from McDuffie County, and graduated from Briarwood Academy in 1994. Afterwards, he attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia and in 1998 earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He continued his education at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where he earned his law degree in 2001.

    Mr. Jones is admitted to practice in all Superior Courts in the State of Georgia, as well as the Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

    Mr. Jones is active in his community, where he has served as a Councilman for the City of Thomson since May, 2007. He is also a current member and past president of the Toombs Judicial Circuit Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Thomson. He has served as Chairman of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
