We’re seeking volunteers to serve on the Camellia City Festival committee. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Thomson-McDuffie Government Center. We’ll be closing out the 150th anniversary of McDuffie County with a community celebration.
The Camellia City Festival is staffed by members of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce, its Board of Directors, and volunteers from the community. It will take a number of community minded individuals to make this festival a success, and there is a wide range of opportunities to participate.
The Camellia City Festival was originally the Festival Off Main (Christmas festival). We’ve decided to move our festival to October to avoid conflict with a great many Christmas festivals scheduled in December. We also want to make this festival a celebration of McDuffie County’s history and agriculture with the prospect of attracting more vendors.
The festival committee’s first meeting will be on Friday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. If you are interested in attending this meeting, email the Chamber office (mailto:debbie.jones@thomson-mcduffie.net), and you will receive the Zoom link.
Volunteer opportunities fall into several different categories seen below. These are subject to change as we determine the new look for the festival.
