Community Volunteers Needed for Camellia City Festival
February 25, 2021We’re seeking volunteers to serve on the Camellia City Festival committee. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the Thomson-McDuffie Government Center. We will be closing out the 150th anniversary of McDuffie County with a community celebration. The Camellia City Festival is staffed by members of the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce, its Board of Directors, and volunteers from the community. It will take a number of community minded individuals to make this festival a success, and there is a wide range of opportunities to participate. The Camellia City Festival was originally the Festival Off Main (Christmas festival). We’ve decided to move our festival to October to avoid conflict with a great many other Christmas scheduled in December. We are also making this festival as a celebration of McDuffie County’s history and agriculture with the prospect of attracting more vendors.
The festival committee’s first meeting will be on Friday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom. If you are interested in attending this meeting, email the Chamber office (mailto:debbie.jones@thomson-mcduffie.net), and you will receive the Zoom link.Volunteer opportunities fall into several different categories seen below. These are subject to change as we determine the new look for the festival.
